Springfield, MA Street Robbery Shooting Suspect Arrested In North Carolina

Last week Aleczander Liriano, 21, was added to the Massachusetts State Police most wanted list.

On Friday Liriano was arrested by a United States Marshals Task Force in Wilmington, North Carolina during a traffic stop near the intersection of Kerr Avenue and Randall Parkway..

On March 5 during a street robbery in Springfield at the intersection of Dickinson Street and Lansing Place, a women was shot. The women was taken to an area hospital and did survive.

An investigation by the Springfield Police revealed that Liriano was the shooter.

Liriano has been charged with armed robbery with a firearm, assault and battery with a firearm, and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building.

In addition to the street robbery shooting incident, Liriano was also wanted on a warrant for breaking and entering.

Liriano is being held at the New Hanover County Detention Center as a fugitive from justice and is awaiting extradition to Massachusetts.
